27 Hours of Summer Vacation Done
We got out of school yesterday. Woohooo!!!!!!!!!!!! And since our school is no longer a "year round" school, I don't see my kiddos again until after Labor Day. Woohooo again!!!
There will be many lists made and goals set. It's anyone's guess how many will be acted upon. Often times, the school books that traveled home for the summer, will return to school unopened at the end of summer. So far, these are the big plans and goals:
1. Granddaughter's visit with us for a week....by herself!!! And we're two weeks away from that one.
2. Lose two dress sizes before Labor Day.
3. Make 5 ATCs for an art ed swap.
4. Make at least one art ed video.
5. Get up to 75 mile rides on the bike. (We did 30 today.)
6. Clean up Snippyville (my studio) and get a lot of paper snipping done.
I'll be ecstatic if those things get accomplished. At the end of all that, I'll probably be ready to go back to school.

So Much Papercraft........
Make that paperwork.

It DEFINITELY hasn't been papercraft or anything remotely creative. All I've been doing lately is bubble in grades. (Which, by the way, reminds me of punch cards. Isn't that a bit antiquated???????) I teach 400 plus students and that's a boat load of grades with a boat load of bubbles. I also have three classes in which I have to enter their grades on the computer for a pilot grading program. This has all put me into major procrastination mode for EVERYthing. My creative juices have been sucked dry!
I did stitch some paper together yesterday for a future 3D papercutting but nothing has happened creatively since then.

At 35 pounds down, and 6 weeks post op, I'm trying to reboot the fitness juices. I'm back on the bike trying to increase the miles. We did 22 on the W&OD trail yesterday.

Today I did 10 along the C&O Canal.

That's a dirt ring above my ankle; not a tan line.

This is our last week of school. My hope is that once I am done with everything educational, I can begin restoring my creative juices and get back into shape.

Riding with Allergies
I forced myself to get off the sofa and make a snip.

Here's me trying to ride my bike yesterday, even though my allergies made me feel so tired.
I rode with a surgical mask on to try to not breathe in any more pollen. It wasn't pretty, but then again, I didn't make it far enough for many people to see me.
*****************
P.S. Here's me a month after starting my pre-op diet and two weeks post op. 28 lbs down. The loss will start to slow down now to probably 2 lbs a week.

Fat Fairies
scherenschnitte
Most days I feel as though the fat fairies are hovering over my head at every moment, sprinkling down their sugary sweet fairy dust upon my head. I mean, where else are all those calories coming from?????I hate those evil doers, but I'm not fond of the wrinkle, double chin, or reading glasses fairies either.

Lust for Cake
I've been dieting since about the second week in January. In that time I have lost ten pounds. Yea me! (Now, let's not overlook the fact that I had put on EIGHT pounds over the holidays....caused by both hypothyroidism and a lust for cake.)
No one ever claimed dieting was joyous. Certainly not me.
When I wake up in the morning this is what my eyeballs view:

What does my lustful brain see??? This:

Red velvet cake sweetness.
What do I WANT for breakfast?????? This:

What do I get for breakfast? This:

And you can see that this morning was a fight to the death with the can of protein shake mix to get every "yummy" morsel.
Enjoy your eating today, those of you who can afford to. I'll try not to dislike you too much.
