Riding with Allergies

I forced myself to get off the sofa and make a snip.

Here's me trying to ride my bike yesterday, even though my allergies made me feel so tired.

I rode with a surgical mask on to try to not breathe in any more pollen. It wasn't pretty, but then again, I didn't make it far enough for many people to see me.

P.S. Here's me a month after starting my pre-op diet and two weeks post op. 28 lbs down. The loss will start to slow down now to probably 2 lbs a week.

Your snips are so expressive!

Congrats on all you are doing to take care of yourself- I'm impressed with your biking in spite of the allergy challenge.

Wow, I knew the surgery could have dramatic results, but had no idea they would be that dramatic! It's got to be exciting!
The allergies, ugh - it's been the worst season ever here. I've taken generic claritan for years, but switched to generic zyrtec because the claratin just wasn't cutting it. Hopefully in a few weeks things will clear up a little.

Holy Cow! Your post-op picture really shows how well this has worked for you. You must be thrilled!

Can't you get one of those fancy bike stands that will let you ride indoors until the allergies let up? I've always thought those surgical masks were a tad boring. How about a Betty Boop pouty face, or a pencil-thing mustache? (I'm going to whip out the How to Draw books and fancy up a few for the Hubs when he needs to be out in Public.)

It's good to take photos, because you won't even believe what you were like when you began, once you are svelte!

Good for you. And take your allergy meds!! I finally caved to taking them year round. I hate taking meds but it has made a big difference for me. I haven't blown my nose all spring, and that is a huge plus in my life.
