I also procrastinated taking the photos of the piece. Ugh.
The four sides have silhouettes that represent four parts of her adult life. The bottom left shows a woman holding a flag, which represents her many years as a Marine wife. The bottom right shows her running with the Olympic torch, which she did.
The bottom left here shows her pushing a baby carriage, representing mother- and grandmotherhood. On the right is a cut out of her as she reads to children. She was a teacher and reading specialist for many years.

Two things...
1. This is absolutely beautiful and completely perfect for her. As always I am in awe of what you can do, from conception through to completion.
2. I saw you from a distance last night and I can't believe I didn't get the chance to say hello. I hope you did see many awesome folks.
I saw you at a distance also. I only saw the honoree at a distance as well; it was so wonderfully crowded! I wonder if all of us many alums will ever get together like that again. So many of us have left, or are leaving, the mother ship.
Very cool!
