Ten Year Old - Contour Drawings

After the fifth graders left, and I got a chance to really look at their drawings, I was floored.

I never learned contour drawing until I took my first art class in 11th grade.
These kids are probably better artists at 10 than I was at 17.  I'm happy for them that they have such a wonderful opportunity to learn art at such a young age.

Great work! I'm with you- I think back to the cut and paste that I did in elementary school...as much as I loved that, it's so wonderful when kids have the opportunity to do more.

These kids are amazing! WOW! I am curious about how you do this...do they start out in pencil or just proceed ahead with pen???

These are wonderful contour drawings. Can I ask what type of directions you gave them? They drew so nicely what their eyes saw. That can sometimes be easier said than done.
