This is my second pysanky egg this week.
I would dye the egg but the color I want to use had a clump of gook on top. Since the dye had been sealed in a jar for the past year, I really wasn't surprised that some of it was funky. I've ordered new dye, but it probably won't be here for a few days. Hopefully, I can have the patience to wait for the new dye to get here and not just dye it some other color.
After you dye the egg and then melt off the wax, the egg looks so different. It's a magical moment when you first get a glimpse of the finished piece. Usually it looks a lot different than I expect. Anticipating that magical moment is what is going to make it hard for me to wait to dye it.

Oh gosh...I hate hald-ups like this! It is so hard to have to wait!!! This is so awesome that you know how to do these eggs!!! I have always admired all kind of egg work...have you ever done any egg carving with dremel drill??? They are so beautiful. I like the idea of doing a large emu egg!
I love art processes with a bit of magic, where there is a reveal! Paper snowflakes, print making, etc...
