Before and After

I posted earlier in the week about hosting an inservice in my classroom. A teacher complimented me on my tidiness and organization. She recognized my lack of a poker face when I was confronted with that untruth, and she then asked if I had cleaned for company. Ding, ding, ding! That's the right answer.

I thought you might be curious to see my room. So here it is. This is what my room looked like at its best.

Okay, so prepare yourself for what it looked like at the end of the day today.

And here's the command center:

I like to think of the squalor as a reflection of the fact that I am working with kids during class instead of focusing on housework during class.

How cool. I found your blog via With a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart's blog. So glad I did. I'm a K-3 Literacy Coach and my sister is a high school art teacher. We both love to create stuff. Of course she is much better at it than I am. I love your work. Hope you don't mind me checkin in to see your creations now and then.

Hey Jan, you sure did get that room ship shape, and it doesn't look too bad for afterwards. But I know how that feels. I get the house cleaned and five minutes later it's destroyed! But yeah, it's a sign that creativity is unleashed in your classroom, and that my house is actually lived in! I did see the my bug papercut in your classroom. It made me happy to know that a little part of me is there with you!
p.s. sorry if i made a duplicate comment - i think the computer ate the first one!
