Art-O-Mat .... The Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas

The only slot that I put money in while I was in Vegas, was this Art-O-Mat machine.

These, evidently, are vintage cigarette machines that have been re-purposed for selling original works of art.  I couldn't resist!

You may either choose a particular artist's work or choose a random one.  I chose the later.

This was the piece I won.  It is a watercolor mounted on a block of wood.  How fun!

This reminds me a bit of ATC's.  You're just purchasing the art instead of trading it.

I've gotten the Art-O-Mat newsletter for a couple of years but I never saw one in person until a couple months ago. I was taking my son to the Mulvane Art Museum in Topeka and unfortunately didn't have any cash with me. I haven't made it back yet but I'll be making an Art-O-Mat purchase when I do!

I've never heard of this, but I love the concept! Out of curiosity, what was the cost?

Very do-able.

They have a website too.

How adorable! I'm planning a trip to Vegas & will have to look for this. By the way - we haven't made reservations yet - it's me and a girlfriend celebrating a mutual milestone birthday - any advice?

Cool. I hadn't heard of these, either.

Hi Jan, it looks like you had a great time! And you looked lovely in your scherenschnitte mother-of-the-bride dress! It's been a while since I caught up with your blog, so great to read your news. Sara x
