The Fat Fairy Takes Flight

Hey, Y'all..........Thank you so much for all the well wishes for a safe and successful surgery. I'm home and doing very well. Everything went quite smoothly at the hospital. I'm happy as a clam.

About the only thing that isn't as planned is the amount of free time and energy I thought I would have during my sick leave. Never having had surgery before, I honestly thought that I would come home and do everything as I always had done, just a little slower. I was going to be gardening and working on school stuff. I was going to spend vast amounts of time paper cutting down in Snippyville. I was going to learn how to use my new camera.

Welp, to say I was naive about my energy level post-op would be an understatement. I've been napping like Rip van Winkle. Walking around is really more like creeping around. I've got the old lady shuffle going. Everyday I get stronger and more energetic, but I'm definitely not up to speed at this point.

The snip above is of the Fat Fairy. She's really a symbol of me. I'm hoping that as my pounds shed away I'll start feeling as though I am taking flight just as she is. I'm definitely ready for lift off!

Can you tell us what you are able to eat/drink at this point? I'm sure it will take a while to get your strength/energy up to speed. It still is surgery, eh?

I love your snip of fat fairy taking flight!!! Wonderful, Jan!!!

Take care...

Hey,Julie....Different doctors do this different ways. My surgeon seems to be more cautious than many others. I'll be on liquidy foods for another week. But that means cream soups, sugar free yogurt, liquidy cream of wheat or grits, broths, sugar free pudding, protein shakes. The main thing I need to get in is protein, but it has to be in a "drinkable" state at this point.

Glad everything went smoothly. Don't push yourself too hard - your strength and energy will come back soon. Before long you will be taking flight with your Fat Fairy.

Hey Jan,
I have been out of touch lately. Sorry I didn't know you were having surgery or I would of said a prayer for you. Glad everything went well. Take it easy and drink that protein.
Hugs,
Tara

I pray that your recovery starts happening more quickly. My cousin had this surgery. The first few days were definitely hard for her.

Jan I haven't been around for awhile so did not know you were doing this. I am pleased it went well and wish you a good recovery.

I understand the thyroid issue and the weight issue, I have fought the same fight for 30 years too. I'm not one for surgery myself, but I completely understand your decision and wish you want you hope for with it.

As for me, I'm back at Weightwatchers!
