My surgeon told me that I had to wait until at least 4 weeks after surgery to get back on the bike. Friday was my one month postop date, so I was happy to get back in the saddle again. Saturday I rode 7.5 miles; Sunday I rode 11.5; and today I rode 11.5. I'm anxious to get back to some bigger miles on the weekends.
Though the amount of tourists was a bit heavy today, Memorial Day, we had lovely weather and a nice ride around DC.
We ate lunch by the C&O Canal in Georgetown. Dean & DeLucca is our favorite lunch spot on that ride.
I had a simple, but yummy, salad. Mmmm......
And I didn't think about school once.

Way to go!!! Looks like you had a great holiday... just a few more weeks and its vacation for us:)
I'm so envious! My messed up knee is keeping me from riding my bike! (Not that I have time- we're packing and moving and all that!) So can I live vicariously through you? Your rides and lunch sound fabulous!!
Glad you had a nice day for your bike ride. Looks like a beautiful route.
Looks like a lovely day for your first bike ride. I would love to visit DC someday.
I am soooo jealous! This would be a real vacation for me since I have never been there...and what great scenery!!! Isn't it just wonderful how you can just get on a bike and go so far??? Awesome!!! What a life you lead. :)
You are a true inspiration!!!!
I wish I had half your energy and drive... our weekend was a little "English" in that the weather was cold then hot then cold then wet... very changeable... today its just Rain! of course it is... the children are off school for the week!
