Snow Day

Today was the first day of the school year that we got an unexpected day off. Tomorrow is iffy. We're supposed to have a refreeze tonight, so it'll be interesting to see what happens to the roads. I'm sure I'll be awake at 4 a.m. when they make the call whether to go in to school or not.

I'm continuing to work on the insect series. The ones already snipped have been hung and I am excited to see them as a set. So far, so good.

Someone inquired about the tools I use to snip. Here's a photo of my desk this afternoon.

This week I received in the mail a new, translucent, self healing, cutting mat that is twice the size of the ones I had been using. I am liking it. This was made by one of the scrapbooking companies and I bought it on eBay. The other tools are: Honeybee precision scissors, xActo knife, metal ruler, pencil, Elmer's, and Easy-Tac adhesive spray. I like non-fade paper but also use Origami paper.

Looking online for a Romanian to English translation, this is roughly the comment above:

Very interesting what you've posted on your blog and I like what I see. It really is beautiful and interesting. Congratulations, I am sure to be back.

I've enjoyed getting caught up with you! We've had two snow days, and will probably get another today! It's awesome! The first snow we've had this winter.
Your bug snips are turning out so well, such a cool collection. So sorry you've been sick and hoping you are on the mend, and so sorry you were the target of that dad's ranting. COO COO is right, but I've found those kind of people do not listen to reason so kudos to you for the way you handled it.
