Scale

Last night, after I scanned and posted my last snip, I tossed it aside. It was neither detailed nor clean cut enough to like it much. When I saw it laying on the table this morning, surrounded by other objects that gave it scale, I liked it much better. That might be a reason to use book pages as a background more often. The type gives it a little scale. And it might also be a reason to not judge what I do right away. A little time and distance might be good.

That's a good life lesson as well. (.....don't judge right away......give it some time and distance.......)

I completely agree! It's impossible to judge one's own work right after completion--no sense of perspective, as you said. And I mean that quite literally when doing papercuts--the bleary eyes when I'm done don't help!

I love your house series. The first one DOES NOT look like a funeral parlor. I love the balcony. And this one reminds me of this Victorian house off the highway here that has lots of fun gingerbread details. It's for sale, too, if you're interested!

Funny thing... I liked it as soon as i saw it... i like it... but then, you are one of my most favorite papercutters and i do enjoy soaking in your cuts. :-) have a great day, and Have Fun using your talents to teach others and bring pleasure and interest to little hearts and eyes...

I love this snip and I agree I liked it before I saw it next to the earphones. But now that I see how small it really is I find it even more amazing! Really fantastic!
