I remember back in the early 80's there was some hub-bub about the MTV generation needing to be entertained to be educated. This was years and years before I ever heard the term "multiple intelligences." I guess the fear was that students would no longer be capable of learning from lectures.
......as if I ever learned from lecture back in the day anyway.
