Loving to Carve Love Spoons

I spent many hours in carving bliss while working on this Love Spoon.  At the very end I gave it a little sanding, but most of the smoothing out was done with a knife tip.  It was happily meditative.

This spoon was carved out of sycamore and I just drew a pattern on it that seemed to fit the wood.

Hello. We were blog buddies back during my daughter's bone marrow transplant and health drama and still have your pretty scherenschnitte framed in our hallway. Happy to report Marian's doing very well and just started high school! I was reviewing some of her old blog because we're learning about some of her disease processes in the Physician Assistant program I'm in this fall, saw a comment from you, and peeked to see what you're up to. You sure didn't disappoint! My favorite wooden spoons are hand carved and yours is gorgeous! Will try not to delay tonight's studying _too_ much while I browse....
